The Green ABC will be ready this summer

Droomwevers (Dreamweavers) is currently working on the Green ABC, an environmentally conscious ABC for Children, which is perhaps our most important multimedia project to date. The Green ABC will be ready this summer.

In March the 10-year-old Cedar Zwagerman travelled with her father from Alkmaar to Amsterdam to record a Dreamweavers song for our Green ABC multimedia project. The enthusiastic singer chose the last song of the ABC: Sun (Zon), a very challenging and introverted song that is even difficult for an adult to sing.
Ceder
Cedar is the sixth child to record a song for the Green ABC. Also in March we were allowed to record two young singers from Haarlem, the 7-year-old Alyssa who sang the song Dieren and the 8-year-old Fiene who sang the Insect song.

In addition, the 14-year-old aspiring opera singer Sophie Ruhl recorded the aria-like song Energy.

The 17-year-old Falco Neerings, recent winner of Almere Got Talent, sang the swinging country song Xenotransplantation.

In April the young singer Daniel Triëst traveled all the way from Limburg to Amsterdam to sing two Dreamweaver songs: Climate and Human Rights. As a singer he is often compared to Danny de Munk.

Every year Droomwevers is invited to perform during the Rembrandtpark Festival in Amsterdam. This year a number of children will perform songs from the Green ABC.

The festival takes place this year on Sunday 30 September and the young Droomwevers singers will sing from 13.00 to 13.30.  Droomwevers (Dreamweavers) is currently working on the Green ABC, an environmentally conscious ABC for Children, which is perhaps our most important multimedia project to date. The Green ABC will be ready this summer.

Droomwevers (Dreamweavers) is still very active and is preparing for the new season.

Droomwevers (Dreamweavers) is still very active and is preparing for the new season. The workshops in the neighborhood New West and at Calvijn College run well. The participants from an average of 7 to 11 years old attend faithfully every week and do their best. In April for example, the children of Het Calvijn College performed successfully in De Buurtzaak (the community centre) under the guidance of Henry Muldrow, who as solo singer peformed a Purcell song. The enthusiastic and experienced workshop leaders are looking forward to the further developments of the talented youth. The workshops will continue until July and after that they will continue when the summer holidays are over in September.
Regularly songs and videos are placed on the Dreamweaver's YouTube site, including work of Catherine de Cocq, a Belgian graphic designer. We recommend that you check our YouTube site regularly.

On King's Day, Droomwevers had a special event on the Apollolaan in Amsterdam. Henry Muldrow, Andreas Knoblauch and Ton Verhees were selling items for Droomwevers. Henry also sang songs by Gershwin, The Beatles, Schubert and Purcell and as well as a few opera arias. With his strong voice and the good turnover, it was an excellent day for Droomwevers. Lots is being done to get money to create new Droomwevers books and CDs.
Droomwevers has been working for some time now on an Amsterdam photo project, with among others photo's by Wiesje Kneppers. Her photos are used for a virtual tour with concert. Music arranger Mastraccio has made sparkling arrangements of songs for this project, which are recorded in the studio with vocals of which a CD is made. To extend this project we are creating photo-movies. Enthusiastic technicians in the field of film can report to Droomwevers. As a first manifestation of this long-term project, Henry Muldrow, Arne Ridderikhof and Kees IJsbrandij performed at the Rembrandt Park Festival on October 2, 2016. (There is a video on YouTube.) It is expected that more performances will be coming up, including a performance in 2017 during the Rembrandt Park Festival.
On June 23th, Droomwevers will perform for philosopher Dr. Heidi Muyens’ the Quest for Wisdom foundation in Weesp. The theme will be 'Borders and Walls' and Henry will perform songs and raps based on this theme. Other Droomwevers, including Arend Smit, will have the opportunity to present their own work on the theme. As a guest of this day, the well-known Belgian philosopher and author Dirk de Wachter has been invited. This promises to be an interesting afternoon, later a report will be published.
In recent years Droomwevers has released books and CDs, and new releases are being worked on intensively.
