Traditional philosophers and writers
Dreamweavers Philosophical ABC consists of 26 quotations by Aristotle, Buddha, Confucius, Democritus to Zoroaster, sung to music with a visual image of a great painting. Besides these, there are 26 essays explaining the meaning of the quotes to children. Dreamweavers makes a broad definition of what a philosopher is. As role models and inspiration, various wise men and women are included. Even religious leaders and writers, including Anne Frank are selected. Songs and picture books are a great way to start a philosophical conversation with young children. They are interested in and good at philosophical discussions. Such teaching in the classroom contributes to citizenship, language skills and confidence. The Dreamweavers' Philosophical ABC helps instill reasoning skills and values in children. It is an additional learning aid in the classroom where different views and respect for other people's opinion are emphasized. This is a project involving participation from more than 26 artists, 26 singers, dozens of writers and a graphic designer.
